‘Savile Row travels to Paris! Ooh er!’ (Is the English translation for this blog post.) The French have cried out, asking for soft tailoring from Savile Row to be brought to France. So, we have responded! Does soft tailoring in exchange for buttery pastries, heady perfumes, romantic architecture and wine galore sound like a fair exchange? It does to us!
Sartorial Trips contacted us to explain that there has been requests that Steven Hitchcock should come to Paris and tend to the bespoke tailoring needs that Parisians demand! So, we are cooling our passports down from our recent USA trip, and will be gladly waving them at the French border! Beatty, our lovely Cocker Spaniel has also got a passport and will be joining us on this French trip…he’s looking forward to meeting some ‘chic’ people!
We have never travelled to France for a trunk show, we certainly have French customers who kindly travel to London to have their fittings. However, we are intrigued to see what Parisians are interested in when it comes to bespoke suits. Often classic English style and cloths are normally ‘de regueur’ when our French following come to London. However, will the Frenchman/woman be at ‘home’ when we come to Paris? Will we see what true French style looks like?…albeit with a soft drape style in the mix!
We will be staying at Le Claridge, Champs-Elysées. From: Friday 24th to Sunday 26th November 2017.
